Aeration: The sides of the Garden Gourmet composting bin are comprised of twenty individual panels, each of which incorporates an aeration vent. This provides for aeration on every side and at every level of composting.
Assembly: The Garden Gourmet composting bin is assembled by snapping together the pre-fabricated parts. No tools are needed. Ground stakes are included and these may be necessary in high wind areas. If used, these need to be hammered into the ground. Detailed care, assembly and use instructions are included with the composter.
Access: Composting materials can be added in any of three different ways. Compost material can be added through either of the two convenient flaps in the sloped top. Alternatively, larger quantities of compostable materials can be added single handedly by removing the cover using the convenient handle provided at the ridge. Compost can be removed from the 17 1/2" x 19" integral side sliding door by sliding it up to expose compost. Note that because the walls are nearly vertical, you don't have to lean over to add or mix compost. This design reduces stress on your back and gives you easy access to the contents.
