How the ComposTumbler Works
DAY 1 Gather up your old leaves, your grass clippings, your garden scraps and put them in the ComposTumbler. Close the door. Give the handle a few turns.
None of the compostumblers are hard to put together. The trick is to just stay out of your own way. The Back Porch Tumbler has great visual instructions. It only took me about 20 minutes to assemble.
One of these right outside the back door makes it so convenient to empty my compost bin. I go out there in my jammies and dump my scraps, and twirl it around a bit. The rest of the time, I forget it’s there. The full length door is the best feature of this composter. I can dump the grass catcher right into it with no spills.
The trick to keeping the lid open is to rotate the compost inside toward the back so it weighs it down in the back and gravity will hold the lid open for you. Makes it easy to scoop out some finished compost, too.
